While there’s a massive market of online business owners to sell information to; there are also a huge number of businesses that are providing them with the informational products. So, as with any business, you will need to make your own informational items stand out from all the rest of them out there.

To do that, you will need to figure out how to bring your own uniqueness to what you’re providing in your business. There are some ways that they could be accomplished:

Niche marketing- Finding a specific group of business owners to market to; can increase your chances of getting your items chosen by the consumers.

Providing certain kinds of content- For example, you can choose to sell only materials that cover various topics on PLR content. Or you could cover all kinds of topics using only reports to give them that information.

Knowledge or experience- If you have knowledge or experience in any certain area, then you can use that to your advantage. There are many ways to do that. If you have a business degree, you can use that to establish a level of expert status for yourself. Maybe you have owned a business in a particular niche for several years, which gains you credibility as well as expert status.

Point of View- Sometimes giving a different point of view on a topic can establish your uniqueness and gain you a nice sharp edge on your competition. For example, maybe you have inside information on a particular topic. This could be used to play on the business owner’s desires.

Establishing a name for yourself- This is a strong tactic to use within the social networking communities. Once you build rapport with the fellow members of the group you have joined; you start to show them what you’re all about. As they get to know you; you start to become a ‘celebrity’ of sorts within that niche. Voila! You’ve established a name for yourself and people have trust to buy from you.

Broaden your horizons- Get yourself out there to every corner of the internet. Join Message boards, forums, run a blogging community, and utilize all the available tools the internet provides like social bookmarking sites. The more your name is out there, the more your business is known. And then what? More Sales happen.

Show your caring side- Don’t be afraid to show that not only are you a business person, but you’re a caring one as well. Those who are caring tend to build rapport with their target audience easier and quicker. For example, if you’re a mom who owns a business, and you target other moms who have businesses; you should show that. When the target audience can see you’re just like them, they will be more drawn to you.

Using a different format- Most of your competitors are probably providing their customers with simple written materials on various topics. To stand out, you could use a different media format to offer your information with. This could be:

  • Video format
  • Audio format
  • Teleclasses/Webinars

These formats give your customers a different way to learn their information from. Instead of always having to read a document on their computer, they can watch a video of you talking about it instead. You can also attach a written transcript with it, so they can follow along if they choose or give them something to refer to later on when questions arise.

Online Business owners have the desire to succeed. They also have the desire to learn how to better themselves and their business. Put these two factors together and you have a prime Money making opportunity on your hands.

Get into this billion dollar industry and market the information they want, need and most of all desire. This is Problem-Solution. They have a problem and you have the solution. You have the knowledge to offer them, so give what they desire-information on how to succeed.

Strategies To Grow Your Business

If you want to improve traffic to your business and generate as many leads as you can, the way to do it is to market your products and services through campaigns such as websites, booklet printing, custom flyers and print booklets. Print booklets for one are very effective marketing collaterals that give good results. But it is also not about just doing it for the sake of marketing and having your name out there. You need to understand that you have to effectively market so your time, money and effort will not be wasted on results that are minimal, if none at all.

Here is how you can market effectively with strategies that really work hard to get you the results you want:

Go online.

And create your very own website. This is what many businesses are doing nowadays. If you can provide a particular service, be able to build a website, then you can already call yourself a professional booklet printing company for example. But that is just the thing. Although you can position yourself in the wide world of the Internet, there is also the notoriety that online companies have that might rub off on you. The best way to steer clear from being cast as a fly-by-night company is to choose a domain name that is not only highly descriptive but evokes professionalism and expertise through and through. If you can hire a managing consultant, as well as a website designer to do your website for you, then well and good.

The key to landing as many search clicks and traffic as possible is to have integrity, trustworthiness and expertise reflected in your site. Provide as much valuable information as you can and choose the information that would be of interest to your target clients. And be sure to impress them with the details that make you different and distinct from your competitors.

Go telemarketing.

Not only should you have a working website, but you also have to promote your business via phone brigade. Open your business black book and even the Yellow Pages, and call up all those that you think might be interested in what you have to offer. Open the client base that you have used for your booklet printing and follow up on your print booklets’ deals. You can even hire telemarketers to do it for you if you are not that confident to talk to your target clients over the phone. The bottom line is to touch base with your target clients to let them know that you are what they need to solve their problems.

Go with referrals.

In addition to word-of-mouth marketing, referrals are one of the most significant means to get people coming in your door. What is good about referrals is your customers who actually swear by your effectiveness are the ones that generated the interest to your business. Prospects will be attracted to try you out because they know that there are real people who actually benefited from your business.

Affiliate marketing is one of many attractive online business models. The main appeal for me is that I can market proven products that have already demonstrated the ability to pull down sales. Another major benefit of affiliate marketing is that I don’t have to put in the time or incur the expense to develop my own products. Both of these elements make for an easy entry into a legitimate online business of my own.

But there’s another benefit associated with all affiliate programs and that is that I have no contact with customers other than getting them to visit the originator’s sales page. Once someone has made the decision to buy, the creator of the product is responsible for delivery of the product and all follow-up contact with the customer. Many feel these three benefits make affiliate marketing the perfect online business.

If the three above items aren’t attractive enough, there’s yet another gem associated with affiliate marketing: generous commissions. Many of the most popular and best selling affiliate programs out there offer commissions of up to 75 percent! With such a program you’re obviously you’re going to make more money than the creator of the product. But don’t shed a tear for the creator because with a popular product he or she employs an army of affiliate marketers. This army, of course, employs the multiplication of effort concept, which results in the product’s creator receiving an outstanding financial return.

What To Sell
For years conventional wisdom has told us that we should market products or services that we are familiar with. And to a certain point that’s true. But there’s a little more to the formula for success than that. For true financial success it’s also important for you to sell products that have high demand. For example, if you’re interested in photography you might search for products to promote within that niche.

The question you need to ask yourself is this: How many people are interested in photography items? The next question is this: what might bring me a greater reward? Look at it this way, the amount of work you’re going to have to put into a promotion will be virtually the same regardless of the product. So doesn’t it make sense to promote something where there are plenty of known buyers?

Drill Where The Oil Is
Clickbank.com is a very large affiliate program provider. One of the tools they offer is the ability to search products by both popularity and the number of sales a product pulls in. So, if marketing efforts are going to be virtually the same, doesn’t it make sense to promote a product where there are thousands or more ready buyers searching every day? Of course it does.

Does that mean you need to abandon your passion? No. It simply means you need to prioritize your approach and decide whether you want to earn money or whether you want to deal only in products for which you have passion. For me, at least when starting out, money was the more important motivating factor.

So What’s Selling?
I’m not going to go into specifics here but I will say this. Generally speaking, people are only looking for three things. Those are:

·    Love (friendships and all interpersonal relationships fall under this category)
·    Improved Health
·    Money

When you think about it, what else is there? Now, how badly do people want these things? It varies, of course. The wise marketer will do well to conduct a bit of market research to determine the best selling products in each of these categories. From there it should be easy to come up with more great products than any one individual could effectively market at one time. Good luck!

Internet Survival Skills 101

I was on the phone recently and I told the person just to copy and paste the link I had sent him. He proceeded to tell me that he did not know how to do this and that most people did not.

When I explained that copying and pasting is the mathematical equivalent of 2+2=4 he said, “well all right I’ll Google it then”.  He knows about Google but not how to do the simplest of computer functions.  Good thing they don’t have the TV phone yet because I was shaking my head and rolling my eyes.

Having been born in 1957 I was not raised in a household with a computer (duh).  When I was a child my etch-a–sketch was my laptop.  So unlike my nephew and niece who at birth were given Mac books I had to learn and adapt to computers.

Computers have many functions but for me there greatest function is to be used to market online.   An entire industry has spawned of people working from home and selling goods and services over the internet.  You may ask yourself  “what could I market on the net”?

Well how about an info product?

Do you possess knowledge that others would benefit from?   Look at what a few of the leading info marketing guys like Alex Mandossian, Frank Kern, Armand Moran, to name a few are doing.  They sell millions of dollars in information products per year.

So the question is, why not you?  I’ll bet that the idea of making money from home without the need for physical inventory (or expense) is appealing.  Note that I said “without the need for physical inventory”.  With information products your “inventory” is virtual.

In 2005 I started a company that licensed information products from authors and speakers.  Each time we sold a product the author/speaker earned a royalty.  So what was the cost of my product development?  How about zero.  Then as opposed to shipping CD’s I digitized their product into an electronic file (mp3).   So when a customer made a purchase they instantly received access to the product via the net.

So you have several options to begin your new endeavor.  One is to become an affiliate for someone who has the product and offer all completed.  Usually affiliate programs come with turnkey marketing pieces, landing (also called squeeze page) that has proven conversion numbers, sales letter and on.  Your only task here is to drive traffic to your affiliate site.

Another option is to license existing product and then create your sales system.  There are a number of great info products where the creator simply is not a good marketer.  Here is your opportunity to cash in on their expertise while creating a mutually beneficial relationship.

Then of course your next option is creating your own product.  The benefits of this are many; first of all you own it (duh, again).   This enables you to repurpose the content as you see fit.

Let’s say you have written a book.  Well you can take aspects of the book and create a DVD or CD series; you can create a seminar from its content, perhaps a membership program (online of course), or a coaching/mentor program.   I could keep going but you get the point.  The owner of the content is master of their universe.

Now my question to you is “what if?”  What if there is something I’ve said that sparks your thinking into gear?   If so you’re asking yourself “how do I get started?”   Well grasshopper the answer is simple, start by doing research.  Search the net for info products and see what’s on the market and observe how they are being marketed.  If you decide to create your own product search that topic and see what’s available and how you differ (6 degrees of separation).

Once you have decided on a direction we’ll need to discuss the various marketing methods available to you.  And that my friends will be the subject of my next article.

Till then, let me leave you with this thought from Isaac Newton, “An object at rest tends to stay at rest, and an object in motion tends to stay in motion.”  In other words get your butt in gear and take action.

New businesses, whether online or offline, have to let people know they exist – which means advertising. In the world of Network Marketing, there are numerous ways to get free exposure, and start building the name recognition that will guarantee your long-term success!

Blogging – blog is short for web log, and is simply a venue for commentary and discussion on any subject you can think of. Publishing a blog is easy – go to Blogger, sign up and start writing! As a network marketer, you obviously want to write about your experiences – and then invite others to join in via other forms of free advertising. This great free exposure, but be sure not to play up on any lack of knowledge you think might be a deterrent to others joining in your discussion. Look for other blogs related to Network Marketing, and invite the author to trade links.

Article Writing – I submit articles for pay periodically. When I submit those articles, I make sure that I indicate that it is NOT for exclusive use – which means that I am free to publish the article elsewhere. I can then take the same material and submit it to article directories for publication. In fact, I use a service that submits my articles to multiple directories, but this is something that can also be done manually without too much effort. You can do a web search and find hundreds of article directories devoted to any subject under the sun.

The key is the resource box – when you submit an article, there is a special “about the author” section that you’ll need to complete. Write a short (and complimentary) blurb about yourself, and include a link to your website. Remember that you are a network marketer, and image is everything. Even if you’re not “successful” in whatever terms you feel are applicable, THINK of yourself as a Network Marketer and write about yourself in that regard.

Forum Marketing – there are too many forums out there to even start listing them. I recommend you do a Google search with subject+forum – choose any subject you like; there are thousands of things that are of interest to network marketers. Visit a couple of forums for ideas on what those subjects are, and then do more Google searches. The key to being successful is this arena is to find forums that have active, current and relevant postings and make a real contribution to the discussion. Blatant advertising will not bring the results you seek.

As with article marketing, the signature page (like a resource box) is where you will enter information about you and your business. Join 3-5 forums, and post to them often. Once a day would be ideal, several times a week at minimum.

Free ad spaces abound on the internet. I’ve used them with limited success, but considering the cost (free!) it is a good place to invest a little time when you’re getting started. Simply conduct a Google search for “free classified ads” and several variations of the term, and select sites that look like they get consistent traffic – which will be evident if there are constantly new ads being placed.

While free advertising methods may not bring the same level of results as paid advertising, there are several advantages to using the methods outlined above. First, it’s free! Second, if you’ve developed or are utilizing some method of tracking, you will start to learn what is effective in your advertising and will be ahead of the game as you move into the paid advertising spaces. It may be a little intimidating when you begin, but the trick is to get in the game and develop your skills without emptying your wallet!
