For a well-designed flyer printing collateral, there are basic guidelines that one should follow to create effective full color flyers. Whether you’re a newbie or a professional graphic designer for such a long time, the basic elements are the foundation and backbone that makes up an excellent and effective flyer printing.

Here are the elements:

Color
Color is the basic element that entices your target clients to look at your full color flyers. It’s what provides your flyer printing with the brilliance and intensity that is needed to attract them to your message.

When choosing your color for your collaterals, make sure that you customize it according to your type of business. What would best describe your products and services? Navy blue is often associated with the corporate world. For a more casual organization, yellow or orange may be appropriate to reflect an outgoing and cheerful business.

Line and Movement
Lines mean the rows and columns created within your full color flyers. These lines then emphasize and lead your readers to your message. Hence, your lines are required to have one seamless movement so your message will not be lost in the clutter of all the elements.

Often, the line movement is shaped like a ‘Z’ – the eye starts at the top left, goes to the top right, then makes a diagonal movement to the bottom left, until it finally stops at the bottom right.

To ensure that your flyers can be read even at 8 to 10 feet away, try to peer at your flyers and read your copy from top to bottom. If there’s any element that looks incongruous that it stops you from reading the rest of the content, you have to rearrange your elements until you achieve cohesion in your overall appearance.

Form
For every element, a form is created in your full color flyers. It may be a shape or a block; whatever it is the key is to ensure that each of the forms created is consistent to the overall appearance. They all should have one movement, with one point to focus on – your message.

Finally, be sure to have a simple flyer printing to convey your exact thoughts to your target clients. Simplicity always helps readers to understand any copy. If you can say your message in 10 words or symbols, you are almost guaranteed of a quick response from your target clients.

Also, try to highlight one element if possible. Avoid distracting and confusing your readers from what is really important in your collaterals. A flyer can only hold so much in its page so make sure that you maximize the limited area available.

Good luck then. I hope the next time that you design your flyers these basic principles can guide you to an easier and less painful process.

Have you ever considered making a second income online from home to supplement your full time job’s income?  If you haven’t, believe it or not, right now is the perfect time to give yourself a raise with a part time internet business. There is a catch to this though, if you are going to attempt this, you must first and foremost treat it as a business and not a hobby. Hobbies cost you money, a business makes you an income.

As we all know, in this day and age, there is no job security, and pay raises are very few and far between. But consider this, over forty million people daily, are searching for an online business opportunity between the yahoo and google search engines. That is right, over forty million people per day! Why not take advantage of this in the way of your own online business. If you run one properly, it can mean an instant pay raise, and can obviously mean much, much, more. Getting started right is of the upmost importance though, and this is where a lot of people are doomed from the beginning. Research and patience are the key to starting an income online type of home business.

As we all know, there are literally tens of thousands of online business opportunities available on the internet, where does a person start looking for that right one to get involved with? I personally believe that a good place to start your search is through online articles, ezines, and blogs. This way a person can get to know a ton of in depth information about the business, without the pressure of having an individual calling them and pushing them into a forced decision. A person can take all the time that they would like reading articles and getting a good personal perspective on the business that they are looking at. I honestly think a person doing their research, should go to an online article hub, type in the name of the business they are looking at, and that way they can usually get many different views from several people in that particular online business. You can then get a better feel for that business based on many different perspectives from some of the people involved.

Not rushing into an online business is very important, take your time, do your due-diligance,check it out thoroughly and then at that point , you can effectively begin emailing or calling prospective mentors to get more information on that particular program or income online type of business. Remember, there are no get rich programs out there that are sustainable, so even if it takes you a few days, or even a few weeks to get a good feel for the particular business that your looking at, it will be well worth the time that was researched on it. If a person want’s to set up their business for the long haul, they would be very wise to invest the time up front, so as to be on a firmer foundation when they do decide on which business program to get involved with.

In light of the current economic climate many small business owners are experiencing a sense of impending gloom and are gripped by fear, insecurity and uncertainty. Little do they know that this is THE perfect time to build a strong and successful business by helping others succeed? In this article I share how you can step into your greatness, even during a recession.

I know many of you reading this now run a service-based business. Whether you’re a coach, consultant, speaker or any other service-based professional this is a time of massive opportunity for you. The tactics of the past no longer work. Greed and opportunism are out and genuine, heart-based, conscious businesses are swiftly filling the breach.

As providers of a service you’re in the perfect position to impact the lives of your prospects and clients in a positive way at a time when they need you MOST! This economy gives you the perfect setting for your strengths to shine through. You have the ability to gauge a need, serve, and share and affect positive change for others more quickly than larger organisations. In order to do this you must utilise your networks, build effective relationships and have the correct Internet structures in place. I’ve devised some tips to help get your started: -

1. Build Your List, Show People Who You Are

Your prospects and clients STILL need your information; they STILL need your services. In fact, it is likely that they need you now more than ever. This is why it’s vital to build a list of people who want what you’re offering and who know you. Show them that you care enough to stay in touch. Let them know that you ARE there for them when they need you. This isn’t about hard sell. You must take time to build relationships and understand who you serve. When money is tight people think long and hard before parting with their hard earned cash. Who would you invests in, a stranger or someone who understands your needs, who’s demonstrated that they can fulfil those needs and who has repeatedly taken time to help you and make a genuine connection?

2. Be Consistent, Show Up Every Time!

When you’ve built your list it’s important that you get in front of people over and over again. Show up at least once each week whether it’s at an event, through the publication of your ezine or by holding a teleclass. You must be in front of people. You must be visible. Share something personal about you. Make a genuine connection with your audience in the same way that you would if you were chatting to a friend. Don’t forget that people buy from people. They don’t buy from businesses! So, the fortune really is in the connection and the follow-up. Without it your business will not survive this economic downturn.

3. Offer Masses of Valuable Content, Give Them Something to Remember

Your clients need you to demonstrate that you can help them now more than ever. You must be prepared to offer help and assistance even before money has changed hands. Show them exactly HOW you can help them by positioning yourself as THE expert. Let them sample your expertise to help re-establish trust. Be prepared to go above and beyond and offer REAL value. When you give, you will receive and it will be you that people remember. It will be you that they come back to and purchase from. Be prepared to go the extra mile, offer more than your competitors. Offer EXTREME value and it will be you that people think of at the point when they are ready to buy.

In today’s world of internet marketing, sales, business consulting, and just about any other avenue you can think of, you must make sure your website stand out.  You will need to make sure it is appealing to your customers and that it ranks high in the search engine ranking results.

In order to do so, you need to implement an effective Search Engine Optimatization plan.  Also known as SEO, search engine optimization is the process used to make your website get noticed by the search engines.  If you optimize your site correctly and consistently, you will see those higher rankings in the search engine results pages.  There are some SEO tips that can help you achieve these rankings.  The following SEO tips should help you implement your SEO program quickly and effectively, but still leave your website easy to use and appealing to your customers.

The first one of the SEO tips is to create content that is relevant to your website.  It is not a good idea to stuff your pages full of keywords.  Make the content something that your visitors want to read.  Provide information that they will find useful, such as what your company is about, what services or products you offer, and new information on developments within your business niche.  This will let the search engines see that you are giving your visitors something they need and not just trying to get the website ranked.  If you stuff your content with too many keywords, you may actually be penalized by the search engines.

Another couple of good SEO tips include the way that meta tags are used on your website.  Meta tags are HTML codes that are put into the header of a web page.  They are used directly after the title tag.  In terms of search engine optimatization, meta tags are used to describe the contents and keywords on your page.  Your visitors cannot see these and the main purpose of meta tags are to provide data and direction to search engines about what your webpage is about.  Additionally, image alt tags are similar.  These need to be attached to your images on your website.  If you use a keyword or two in these image alt tags, you will let the search engines know even more about what your website is about.

SEO tips should also include information on link building.  This is one of the most commonly neglected areas of SEO, probably because it does take time to do it correctly.  While link building is not that difficult, you must know which sites to link to make the best use of your time and money.  There are many software suites available that can link your website several thousands of time in just a few days.  However, the problem with this is that the search engines want to see links to relevant sites only.  If you build up a thousand links in just a day or so, you’ll soon see the search engines know that these cannot all be to relevant websites and that you are not doing it manually.  It’s best to avoid this type of software.

Those are just a few of the SEO tips that can help you with your website rankings.  It’s best to read up on other SEO tips and techniques.  These can change almost overnight and you must keep up with the latest trends to see the best results.

No matter what you business is, you need a website. These days it’s not a luxury, it’s a necessity. When you’re in business people expect to be able to learn more about you on the internet. You may be thinking that in order to have an effective website you need to be ready to fork over thousands and thousands of dollars for the latest technology and high-end customized graphics. This is absolutely not true!

I’m not against technology or graphics; in fact I utilize them quite extensively on my own site. BUT that’s not where I invest most of my time, resources and energy and neither should you.

My focus is on communicating with my visitors because that’s where the money is. People do business with those they know, like and trust and this is true online and offline. Which is why I spend my time on writing articles and blog posts, and creating video and audio recordings, mediums that allow me to communicate my message.

Effective communication doesn’t require thousands of dollars, the latest technology or high-end graphics. So, what do you need to communicate effectively?

First, determine your target audience.

When you’re writing copy for your website (or a speech or recording a message) you need to be very specific about who you’re speaking to. Who’s that ideal person you want to attract? Man or woman? What age group? Are they parents? What level of education? You get the idea.

Also, get very clear about how you can serve this audience. What is their big challenge or problem that you can help them solve?

Copywriting Strategist, Lorrie Morgan-Ferrero uses an interesting technique she calls the TARKET FACTOR. When she writes copy rather than writing to a group of people she writes to a single person – her “tarket” – (target market) who is a representative of the majority of her ideal customers.

Then, develop a rapport.

The internet is impersonal by nature so there’s an even greater need for developing rapport when you’re selling a product or service online. Here are a few suggestions that will help you establish that relationship with potential customers:

- Make the person reading your copy feel as if you are writing directly to them. You can do this my using the words “you” and “I”.

- Focus on them. Instead of describing the ins-and-outs of your product or service, talk about how they will benefit from it.

- Be authentic and sincere. Don’t be afraid to let your personality shine through. People do business with those they can relate to.

Finally, have a clear call to action.

It may seem obvious but people need to be told what to do, clearly and specifically, and they’ll be far more likely to do it. Make it as easy for them as possible – they shouldn’t have to jump through hoops to figure out how to “order now”.

However, and this is very important, your objective should not always be to close a financial sale. Your goal is to develop long-term relationships so an important strategy is to entice them to sign-up for your newsletter or download your free report or tip sheet. This allows you to begin building a relationship with them and convert them into buyers.

So remember to follow these three steps to make your website work (and sell) for you:

1. Determine your target audience.
2. Develop a rapport.
3. Have a clear call to action.

These three steps will work effectively whether you have a high-tech, sophisticated website or a very simple “brochure” website. Business is all about marketing and marketing is all about communicating!
